Letters From Our Military:

Dear Sender: Thank you for the care packet. It’s not everyday that someone takes the time out of their day to do something so thoughtful for a complete stranger. From time to time I would get discouraged, but because of your selflessness it makes serving my country all the more worth it. Words cannot express how grateful it makes me feel to know that we have supporters who care so much. Once again. Thank You. God Bless - Cpl. Bazdgett, USMC

-------------------------------------------

Dear Operation Sandbox, Thank you for the package. It’s good to know that there are people that still support the troops. The packages you sent was helpful and the letters you sent help our moral. We try to split all the stuff up between the platoon so we all get our fair share. It also feels like you guys help make the deployment go by quicker. Thank you Stephen

-------------------------------------------

Dear Operation Sandbox, Thank you for your support and thank you for your thought. It’s not often we encounter thoughtful, selfless and unselfish people. It’s very good to know that our efforts aren’t a waste. Your packages and letters are a real morale booster. Thank you again.

-------------------------------------------

Thank you very much for everything you have given my troops and I. Something as small as a disposable razor is greatly appreciated here on boat. We look forward to receiving mail. It’s also a great motivator for my Marines. Most of us are single and don’t have wives back home to send us packages (not me). Our SNCO has provided us with these delightful goodies on behalf of your program he signed us for. I keep these letters you write us as a memory that there are good, caring people back at home thinking about us. Cpl Mata

-------------------------------------------

I would like to let you know how big of a motivational boost your care packages were to us. It is very thoughtful and kind of you. Thank you, God Bless. Cpl Vega

-------------------------------------------

I would like to thank you for your kindness. The care packages were such a motivational boost for a lot of the Marines. It’s really nice to know that we don’t have to worry about buying hygiene gear every other week so we could save some money. Thank you so much for your care for us. God Bless – LCPL Nguyen

-------------------------------------------

Thank you very much for the care packages. All of the marines that received it were very grateful. It really means a lot to me and I’m sure to every marine when we see the love and support from people back home. We appreciate the support and hope you continue to show the support. God Bless and thanks again. LCPL Itela

-------------------------------------------

Thank you very much. My fellow marines and I greatly appreciate the time, money and thought you put into sending us some supplies and well needed treats. We are always happy to see that people still support their own. LCPL Oliver

-------------------------------------------

Operation Sandbox, Thank you very much for sending the package for my marines. They were very excited to receive it. It lets them know that there are people care about them outside of their family and friends. Thank you for being so kind to spend your hard earned money on my marines. Everything will be used. Thank You. SSGT Feulner

Hello, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for thinking of us troops here in Iraq. What wonderful people you are, do you know that to us you are heroes? We are just doing our jobs and love to hear from folks like you. God Bless you all. Your Soldier Friend

-------------------------------------------

Dear Friends: I received your box of goodies today and wanted to thank you. It is always nice to receive mail and it’s even better to get mail that I will pass on the those who need it the most. I will make sure that these items will get passed on to those who need them. I can’t thank you enough for what you have done. I am enclosing a picture of me in front of our Aid state. As you can see, we are very Texas Proud! US Army Texas

-------------------------------------------

I & the soldiers of this base camp would like to thank you for contributing your time and effort to putting in letters and cards. We realize we are not entitled to rewards from you or anyone else for that matter, we appreciate any and all things given to us from you. I am the Point Of Contact for the base camp for care packages and other items sent; as I get them in I pass them out amongst the soldiers to enjoy. I cannot tell you the specifics on enemy contact, but I can tell you that our base camp is small in size and always under enemy engagement! Now we as soldiers are not picky at what is sent to us, I myself do not desire anything but there are soldiers who on occasion like to get “goodies” everyone is entitled to the extras that most people take for granted when in the states. We are just glad that there are people such as your selves donating what you can in the effort to make our life a little more comfortable! It is closely becoming the summer months and the 2 things that are no fun are heat & flies, if you could send OFF bug spray, fly swatters & sun glasses. If only one of each, then that will be one less soldier that has to go without. On behalf of the soldiers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, we would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to all in support of Operation Sandbox GA. THANK YOU !!!!! US Army

-------------------------------------------

Thank you for very much for your very generous and thoughtful gift package. It is always good to hear from the States and even better if we receive a few snacks and hygiene items. Right now, the camp is entirely out of laundry soap to wash your clothes so we have been using just water. It is nice to have food other than meals ready to eat or MRE’s which get old after awhile. Again thanks for all of your support back home – we could not do it without you!

-------------------------------------------

Hello: I just wanted to say Thank You for creating Operation Sandbox. I have received 2 care packages filled with personal hygiene items for my troops and I. Just knowing that the people from back home care about the welfare of us soldiers says a lot about our country. I’ve met several Iraqis who ask me if I can take them back to the US because everyone is so kind, nice and generous. They say we’re like one big family. Well I gotta go, thank you all for everything. Your friend

-------------------------------------------

Dear Operation Sandbox; I want to thank you for the package that you sent me it was very useful not only to myself but to my fellow soldiers. It is nice to know that there are people such as yourselves that help us soldiers overseas. I want to thank you again for being so generous.

-------------------------------------------

Hey! Just knowing people like you care at what happens to us over here makes our day go by a lot better, with the stress that we go through each and everyday. Thank your church for me and my unit for the prayers and the things they are doing for us. To me prayer is what keeps us safe over here. The prayer we say all the time is Psalm 91 you might have seen this one. Thanks again for all the things you guys have done for us because we need them being over here without families and people we know.

-------------------------------------------

I received your package on of all days Memorial Day. It was a wonderful treat and greatly appreciated. I think it is a wonderful thing what your organization and others in the United States are doing to support us out here. I really appreciate it and so do all the other soldiers out here. It feels good to know we are supported, thought about and prayed for. May God Bless your good will and generosity. Thank you again.

-------------------------------------------

We received your mailings to us and are very much appreciative. The men made good use of it all. The thoughtfulness of Americans such as yourselves makes our service in this country so much easier. Knowing that the folks back home are supporting us in our duty in this war on terrorism makes truly all the difference. God Bless you and God Bless America

-------------------------------------------

I am sorry for the tardiness of this letter. We are working 12 hours a day 7 days a week. We don’t get a whole lot of time to write. In fact, we don’t find a whole lot of time to do much but work, eat and sleep. I would like to thank you for your letter. It is nice to know that we have the support of our friends back home. At night I took out all the letters I received from the states and read them aloud to the other soldiers in my bay. We all really enjoyed the letters. Thanks for your box it was great. You are our backbone. We love ya and need ya. Thanks for being there.

-------------------------------------------

I have received one of your generous care packages. My soldiers and I greatly appreciate all that you are doing for us. Please let your church family know that we could never express our gratitude for the items you have sent. The part of Iraq I am in receive very limited supplies of everyday foods and items that you sent it was a great treat! Once again thank you for all that you have done and since I live in GA now I will most definitely have to come and visit your church when I come home from Iraq sometime next year. Thank you Ft. Benning, GA

-------------------------------------------

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. It truly brought tears to my eyes to read the words that you wrote. Your letter could not have come at a better time. My soldiers and I have no preference for any goodies that you decide to send, anything would be appreciated. I do know that they enjoy beef jerky and Kool-Aid premixed with sugar. I guess drinking water all the time gets a little bland. But in all honesty it’s truly the thought that counts to me. For you to send those items and words not knowing us was really a kind gesture and we appreciate it greatly. Again thank you for all you do.

-------------------------------------------

Hello from Iraq: Thank you very much for writing and sending us a care package here in Iraq. We appreciate all the support we get from back home. It means a lot to us. I hope you all know how thoughtful we think you are. We’ve been getting very busy lately so we have a little time to write to all of those that write us. Please accept our thanks including that of the soldiers who do not have the means to write. Sincerely

-------------------------------------------

I just wanted to drop the very kind and generous people or Operation Sandbox a line to let you know that I received your wonderful and very generous gift in the mail and it could not have been on a better day. I received it on Memorial Day. That was an added treat. Thank you very much for all the goodies for all the support and especially for all the Prayers. I really appreciate it, as do all the soldiers over here right now. Seeing how my home state is also in Georgia, maybe when we finally make it back I can come and thank you guys in person. I would really enjoy that. Thanks so much for everything. May God Bless all of your for kindness and generosity and for all the support. Thanks. Can you say an extra prayer for my family and especially my daughter. Ft. Stewart, GA

-------------------------------------------

I was very delighted to receive the care package that you sent. Everything was all well used by the soldiers and myself. It was truly a box that we needed from the people of the US. I feel honored that you put the letter and picture on your bulletin board. It shows that you are just as proud of us, as I am proud of you and the organization. I thank you again for continuing to send letters and boxes; they really make a difference around here. Thanks also for continuing to keep me and the guys in prayer. I know that prayer does change things and keeps us safe from harms way. I think that all the squads are receiving a fair amount of packages here. I have read the letter and the brochure to the soldiers in the platoon. It shows that Georgia has us on their minds. Well this is all for now, until later. Take care and keep us in your prayers. Soldiers from Ft. Benning, GA

I took the time to write this letter because you took the time to send a letter and a care box. We sometimes forget the small things in life that mean so much to others. It really does me proud to see letters like the one you wrote. So again thank you. It reassures me when I read your letter, that I have your support. I hope this letter touches you, as the letter you sent touches me. I will continue to protect, to ensure you can continue to live a peaceful life.

We go into local communities and surrounding areas and assist the families with their medical needs. Many have never seen a doctor and desperately need our assistance. It gives us a great feeling to help a child or sick family member get a little better. It does wonders for the United States and our relationship with the people of Iraq. We are truly blessed to be Americans
